Create coupons, promo codes & member discounts
Create percentage or fixed-amount discounts, turn them into typeable promo codes like BLACKFRIDAY, or assign a coupon directly to specific members so their discount applies automatically — no code needed.
Coupons and promo codes
A coupon defines the discount: a percentage or a fixed amount off, applied once, repeating for a number of months, or forever, optionally capped at a maximum number of redemptions. Coupons live on your own Stripe account and are mirrored in your admin — create them in either place and they appear in both.
A promo code is the customer-facing string (like BLACKFRIDAY) attached to a coupon. Customers type it in the promo-code box at checkout. You can add multiple promo codes to one coupon, and deactivate a code when a campaign ends — existing subscriptions keep their discount; new customers just can't use the code anymore.
Assigning a discount to specific members
You can also hand a discount straight to chosen members — perfect for win-back offers or loyalty rewards. From the Members list, select one or more members (up to 500 at a time) and use 'Assign coupon'; you can also do it from an individual member's page.
If the member has an active subscription, the discount kicks in from their next billing period. If they don't have one yet, the coupon is applied automatically at their next checkout — no code to type (the promo-code box is replaced by their assigned discount). You can remove an assignment at any time, and the platform records who assigned it and when.
Where discounts show up
Promo codes work on both plan checkouts and bundle checkouts. Combine coupons with your leads list to win back abandoned checkouts, or with churned-member filters for reactivation campaigns.
Step by step
- Open Coupons in your admin.
- Click 'New coupon' and choose percentage or fixed amount.
- Set the duration (once, a number of months, or forever) and an optional redemption limit.
- Click '+ Promo code' on the coupon to create a typeable code like BLACKFRIDAY.
- Share the code — or open Members, select people, and use 'Assign coupon' for automatic discounts.
- Deactivate the promo code when the campaign ends.
Good to know
- For subscriptions, 'repeating for 3 months' often converts better than a small forever-discount — and costs you less.
- Assigned coupons beat typed codes for VIPs: zero friction, no leaked codes.
