Message your members: broadcasts and 1:1 replies

Send one-way in-app announcements to all members (or a segment), and answer the messages members send you — all inside the platform, with no member email involved.

Broadcasts: announce something to everyone

A broadcast is a one-way, in-app message from you to your members. It appears in each member's notification bell and on their Community Messages page. Members can react to it with positive reactions, but they can't reply to it directly and can never message each other.

You choose the audience before sending: all members, active subscribers, free members, trial members, or members on one specific plan. The composer shows exactly how many people will receive it and asks you to confirm. If you make a mistake, every broadcast in the history list has a Recall button that removes it from every member's bell and inbox.

Member messages: a direct line to you

Members can write to you from their Community Messages page, and they can attach an image to their message. Each message becomes a thread showing what they wrote, your reply, and when you replied.

You answer from the unified inbox under Members → Messages in the admin, which gathers direct member messages, comments left on your classes, and your past broadcasts in one place. When you reply, the member gets a bell notification and sees your answer in their thread — nothing is sent by email.

Let your assistant help

The AI assistant (Benny by default — tenants can rename it) and the developer API can also read your inbox and post replies, so you can triage member messages conversationally or automate a daily "what came in today?" summary.

Step by step

  1. Open Members → Broadcasts in the admin.
  2. Write a title and message, then pick your audience (all, active, free, trial, or a specific plan).
  3. Check the recipient count, confirm, and send.
  4. To answer incoming messages, open Members → Messages and reply from the thread.
  5. Sent something by mistake? Click Recall next to the broadcast in the history list.

Good to know

  • Broadcasts are in-app only — for email campaigns, use the separate email broadcast feature.
  • A short welcome broadcast is a great first touch when you launch your Community section.
