Getting started · Launch

Invite your first members

Most members join by paying on your pricing page, but you can also add people by hand — perfect for founding members, testers, or friends. Create them with an email, and they get access immediately.

Two ways members arrive

Once you're live, the normal path is self-service: someone visits your pricing page, picks a plan, and pays — their member account is created automatically. But before and during launch, you'll often want to add specific people yourself: early supporters, beta testers, or your team.

Adding a member manually

Open Members in your admin and click "+ New member". Enter their email address. You can set a password for them, or — usually better — leave it blank so they receive a magic link / password reset email and choose their own way in. The member gets access immediately.

After creating them, you land on their member page, where you can grant free access (with an optional expiry date), assign a coupon, or send them a personal message.

How members log in

Members can log in with an email magic link — no password to remember. They can also watch on a TV by entering a short code on their phone, which makes your platform feel like a real living-room streaming app.

Step by step

  1. Open Members in the admin.
  2. Click "+ New member".
  3. Enter the person's email address.
  4. Leave the password blank to send a magic link, or set one manually.
  5. Click "Create member" — they have access immediately.
  6. On their member page, grant free access with an expiry date if this is a founding-member deal.

Good to know

  • Give founding members free access with an expiry date rather than forever — you can always extend it.
  • Once you have happy members, turn on the referral feature so they can invite friends and earn free months.
