Let the AI assistant email members for you
With the "Benny can send email" feature on, you can ask the AI assistant to email one member or a small group from the chat. It always previews recipients and text first, waits for your yes, and obeys hard limits.
Email from the chat
Instead of clicking into member pages, you can say things like "email these eight members about the schedule change" to the AI assistant (Benny by default — you can rename it). It drafts the email, resolves the recipients, and handles the sending — using your own sender address, with every message logged to each member's message thread so there's a full audit trail.
You can give it a subject and body directly, or tell it to use one of your saved email templates by name. Bodies and templates support the personalization placeholders {{fornavn}} (first name), {{navn}} (full name) and {{tenant_navn}} (your site's name), filled in per recipient.
Preview first, always
Nothing is ever sent on the first pass. The assistant always runs a dry-run preview showing exactly who would receive the email and the full subject and text — including anyone who will be skipped and why. Only after you read the preview and give an explicit "yes, send" does it actually send, and then it reports back how many went out.
Hard limits are enforced on the server no matter what the assistant does: at most 20 recipients per send, at most 100 emails per day, recipients must be members of your platform (by email or member id), and blocked, unsubscribed or invalid addresses are skipped automatically. It's built for targeted, personal outreach — never bulk marketing.
Step by step
- Go to Settings → Pages and sections and turn on "Benny can send email" (off by default).
- In the assistant chat, say who to email and what to say — or name a saved template.
- Read the preview: the recipient list and the full message.
- Reply "yes, send" to confirm — the assistant sends and reports the result.
Good to know
- Combine with templates: "send the trial follow-up template to the five newest trial members" is a one-line job.
- If the preview looks wrong, just say so — nothing is sent until you approve.

Automations send a standard email the moment something happens to a member: welcome on signup, plus upgrade, downgrade, pause and cancellation. Write each template, flip its switch, and it runs by itself.
Build multi-step email sequences (drip campaigns)
Sequences send a series of timed emails after a trigger — like a new signup or a started trial. Define ordered steps with delays, subjects and content, and enable the sequence when you're ready.
