Control who can watch: free, members-only, and bundle-only videos

Every video has an access level: open to all members, gated behind a membership, free for everyone including visitors, or sold separately as a bundle. You can even limit a video to specific plans.

The four access levels

On a video's Access tab you choose one of four levels. "No restriction" means every member can watch. "Gated" means only members with an active subscription or free access can watch. "Free for everyone" opens the video to anyone — including logged-out visitors — which makes it perfect for tasters and marketing. "Bundle only" removes the video from the regular membership entirely: it's sold as a separate package, and only buyers unlock it.

Use free videos to give prospects a real feel for your teaching, and bundle-only videos to build a second revenue stream from the same library — see the Bundles articles for how packages are priced and sold.

Limit a video to specific plans

If you run several membership tiers, you can restrict a gated video to particular plans. Click "Manage plans" on the Access tab and tick the plans that should include this video. Leaving none selected means all members have access — restrictions only kick in when you actively pick plans.

Change access on many videos at once

The Videos list has a bulk "Set access plans" action with three modes — Replace, Add, and Remove — so you can move an entire batch of videos to a new access setup in one go. The bulk-editing article walks through it.

Step by step

  1. Go to Content → Videos and open the video.
  2. Click the Access tab.
  3. Under "Access level", pick No restriction, Gated, Free for everyone, or Bundle only.
  4. To limit it to certain tiers, click "Manage plans" and check the plans that should include this video.
  5. Click "Save changes".

Good to know

  • "Free for everyone" videos work for logged-out visitors — link them from your homepage or ads.
  • Bundle-only videos stay hidden from the regular membership until someone buys the package.
  • No plans selected = all members have access; you only restrict by actively choosing plans.
