Grow with the referral program
Give every member a personal invite link: their friend gets a free trial (30 days by default) and the member earns a free month, all handled automatically through Stripe. You control the reward, the visibility, and see full stats.
How the growth loop works
With referrals on, every member gets their own personal invite link plus an "Invite a friend" button. When a friend signs up through the link, they get a free trial — 30 days by default, and you can change the length. Once the referral converts, the member who invited them is credited a free month of their own subscription.
Everything runs automatically through Stripe: the friend's trial, the credit, and the reward. The referrer's credit is normally one month of their own plan (for annual subscribers, one-twelfth of the annual price), or you can set a fixed reward amount instead.
What members see
The share link appears under a "Share with a friend" block on the member's profile page whenever the campaign is active. Four visibility toggles control what else shows there: the member's personal referral count, their pending free months ("You have 2 free months on your next payment"), a list of referred friends with first name and status, and a leaderboard of top referrers.
Start with just the count and pending rewards; add the friends list and leaderboard once you're comfortable with the social visibility they create.
Tracking results
The Referrals page in your admin shows stats for the last 30 days — referral signups, conversions to paying, rewards granted, and total credit given — plus a table of recent referrals. You can also switch on a weekly or monthly summary report by email.
Step by step
- Go to Referrals in your admin and turn the feature on at the top.
- Set the trial length the invited friend gets (30 days by default).
- Choose the referrer's reward: the automatic one-month credit, or a fixed amount.
- Pick what members can see under visibility: referral count, pending rewards, friends list, leaderboard.
- Optionally enable the weekly or monthly report email.
- Watch the stat cards and "Recent referrals" table as invites come in.
Good to know
- Mention the invite link in your welcome email — new, excited members are your best referrers.
- Referrals require Stripe as your payment provider, since trials and credits are applied there automatically.
