Rename your assistant and set an avatar

The assistant is called Benny by default, but you can give it any name (up to 40 characters) and upload a custom avatar so it feels like part of your brand. Set it during signup or change it anytime in Settings.

Name it during signup

When you create your platform, the signup form includes an optional 'AI assistant name' field. Type a name that fits your brand — for example 'Yogi' for a yoga studio — or leave it blank to keep the default, Benny. You can always change it later.

Change the name and avatar in Settings

Both settings live in the Branding & info card of your advanced settings. The name can be up to 40 characters; clearing the field resets it to Benny. The avatar is an image upload — a square image around 256 by 256 pixels works best, with a 200 KB size limit.

Changes take effect immediately: the new name and avatar appear in the dashboard chat greeting, on the AI Assistant page, and on the Train button, which always shows your assistant's current name.

Or just ask the assistant

You can also change this in chat: tell the assistant something like 'from now on your name is Yogi' or 'use this image as your avatar', and it updates its own name and picture for you. Asking it to clear the name brings back the default.

Step by step

  1. In the admin sidebar, open Settings and choose Advanced (all in one).
  2. Find the Branding & info card and scroll to the AI assistant section.
  3. Enter a new assistant name (max 40 characters), or clear it to return to 'Benny'.
  4. Upload an avatar image (about 256×256 px, up to 200 KB).
  5. Click Save branding — the change applies immediately.

Good to know

  • Pick a name your members and team will recognize — it appears everywhere the assistant does.
  • A simple, friendly face or mascot works better as an avatar than a detailed photo at small sizes.
