Manage every conversation in the unified inbox

The Messages page brings direct member messages, unanswered video comments, your broadcast history and member ideas into one three-column inbox with unread counts, member details and a built-in reply box.

What lands in the inbox

Open Members → Messages in the admin and you get a single inbox with five tabs: All, Direct, Comments, Broadcasts and Member ideas. Direct shows messages members have written to you from their Community area. Comments shows video comments that no admin has answered yet, grouped into one thread per video — once you reply, the thread clears from the list. Broadcasts is the history of announcements you've sent, with recipient counts. Member ideas collects feature suggestions your members have submitted.

Each tab shows an unread count so you can see at a glance where attention is needed. New direct messages are marked read when you open them, and comment threads stay listed until they actually get an answer — so a real reply, not just opening the thread, is what clears them.

Everything you need on one screen

The layout has three columns: the conversation list on the left, the selected conversation in the middle, and member details on the right. When you open a message, the right panel shows who you're talking to — their plan, membership status, free-access flag, join date and favorites count — so you can answer with full context without leaving the page.

You'll also get a notification bell in the admin top bar. It's personal to each admin, so on a team, each person sees their own unread notifications for things like new member ideas and comment replies.

Step by step

  1. In the admin menu, open Members → Messages.
  2. Use the tabs (All, Direct, Comments, Broadcasts, Member ideas) to filter the list.
  3. Click a conversation to open it — member details appear on the right.
  4. Reply from the composer at the bottom, then move to the next unread item.

Good to know

  • Check the Comments tab regularly — a comment thread only disappears once an admin has actually replied.
  • Old routes for comments, inbox and broadcasts still work as deep links, but Messages is the one place that shows everything.
